A GROWTH OF EMOTIONS ...
THE FESTIVAL
The Italian Brass Week International Festival, now in its 19th edition, will once again take place
in Florence, from 22 to 29 July 2018. In previous editions it has had a great response from the part
citizenship, tourists and professionals with accessions and consents of the public
impressive.
The Festival will be organized in collaboration with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Russian Ministry of
Culture, the Florentine Chamber Orchestra, ANBIMA and the universities of different countries around the world, among the
such as: United States, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Spain and Germany. These universities will guarantee a
financial support to the many students who intend to attend our Masters. For this
edition we are activating a new synergy with Cordon Bleu for the realization of the “Rossini nel
plate ”, with the International Society for Contemporary Music, for the International prize of
composition "Golden Bridge" and with the international artist Simafra, for the art installation
contemporary on the Arno River during the Main Event at Ponte Vecchio.
Thanks to this network of Arts, the Artistic Director Luca Benucci and the Italian Brass Week team have
titled this edition of the Festival & # 39; A crescendo of Emotions & # 39;, in order to focus on the four
elements that distinguish Florence and enhance its internationality: Water, Gold, Nature and
Art.
The Festival has already obtained the patronage of: Tuscany Region, Metropolitan City and Municipality of Florence,
Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Rome, Honorary Consulate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Florence,
Honorary Consulate of the United States of America in Florence, Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela in Rome.
The Italian Brass Week enjoys the support of many technical sponsors: Yamaha, Buffet Group, Oberrauch,
Frate Precision, Ed. Kruspe, B & amp; S Markneukirchen, Antoine Courtois, Stomvi Art and Technology,
Conn-Selmer Inc, Vincent Bach, Besson who actively contribute to its realization.
There are many industry and communication institutions that guarantee the Festival the right visibility, either
national and international, including: International Horn Society, International Trumpet Guild,
International Tuba and Euphonium Association, Tuscany Pocket media, Radio Rete Toscana
Classical, Florence Entertainment, Music magazine, Teatrionline, Nova Radio Città Furura, Amadeus, Awakening

As for the last edition, we will open the crowdfunding campaign on the Indiegogo platform with
the goal of raising € 10,000 to finance 20 scholarships for young musicians to come
deemed suitable in the International Brass Contest. Each candidate, after registering online will be able to do
upload his video to YouTube and send us the link. All videos will be viewed and selected by
international jury of the Festival, made up of all the stars of the Brass firmament. The vote of the jury
will allow the winners to obtain the scholarship to participate in the Festival edition.
But that's not all, among the winners, the 10 candidates who will receive the most votes online
will have yet another opportunity, that of playing, as Soloists, in one of the
concerts of the Italian Brass Week. The results of the online contest will be announced on our website
www.italianbrass.com and published on our social pages.
The crowdfunding campaign will start in May and will end in June. Each donation will come
associated with a prize.
The Festival has, as in the previous editions, a training center at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale
Florentine. There will be 5 Master classes for trumpet, horn, trombone, bass trombone, tuba ed
euphonium, 6 morning lectures held by the teachers of the Festival, 8 Workshops and 18 concerts in the
most evocative places of the lily city, from the center to the outskirts.
THE MISSION
The mission of the Festival is internationality, the training of young people: enhancing great talents, giving
them the opportunity to play and learn alongside the most important musicians in the world of brass;
promote and stimulate cultural exchange between young Italians and foreigners to consolidate one
reality that too often goes unnoticed.
Young collaborators under the age of 35 will work, together with the artistic director, in the phases of
production, logistics and communication of the event.
We will also go to enhance the Florentine traditions by creating unique events with appeal
international, involving its great artistic heritage, from squares to churches that
will become the favorite setting of our concerts, in addition to the added values of our Florentine identity,
such as the goldsmith shops on Ponte Vecchio, the carriages of the Fiaccherai, the art of

Rossini & # 39; s Renaissance Day, Cenacle of Santa Croce
Concert and Italian Brass Week Culinary Award
dedicated to the celebration of Gioachino Rossini (1792-1868), musician and gourmet, in the 150th
anniversary of his death. The Soloists of the Festival will perform the most famous pages of the composer
Pesaro dedicated to our city, as well as the music that accompanied the return of his
body in Florence, performed at the Santa Maria Novella station, at the Duomo, in the Salone dei Cinquecento in
Palazzo Vecchio, and in Piazza Santa Croce, before burial in the Basilica dei Grandi, as well as
those famous pages taken from his masterpieces, brought to light by the superintendent and musician
Vittorio Gui, during the first edition of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Festival in 1933.

For the first time in the history of the Festival, as well as in that of our city, this will happen
event. Small IBW & # 39; s Ensembles will board the historic Florentine carriages, the Fiacchere, and
they will be led by the fiaccherai through the beauties of the historical center.
However these formations will follow an unusual and unprecedented path ... we will not stop at
usual & # 39; History of Florence & # 39; ...
Tourists and enthusiasts will all be transported, really and historically, through this
fascinating Florentine musical journey. The carriages will stop where something happened
musically extraordinary for our city, and the Brass Ensemble will remember that event with the
