In Florence the XVII International Festival
Italian Brass Week
From 17 to 24 July 2016, Florence, as for last year, will host the 17th Edition of the Festival
International "Italian Brass Week", the week dedicated to the world of brass, conceived and directed by Maestro
Luca Benucci, first horn of the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, organized by the Association
cultural and musical "Italian Brass Network".
The new edition has activated important institutional collaborations - Municipality of Florence, City
Metropolitan, Tuscany Region, Florence Opera Theater of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Amici del Teatro
of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, UNESCO, European and World Brass Associations, ANBIMA, Estate Fiorentina
- and obtained many patronages - Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Consulate
of the United States of America in Florence, Consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany in Milan,
Embassy of Canada in Rome, Embassy of Switzerland in Rome, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

Rome, Consulate of Poland, Honorary Consulate of France, Embassy of Mexico in Rome.
The Stars degli Ottoni will gather in Florence for Masterclassses and Concerts, renewing the appointment
annual dedicated to the high educational path - already awarded with the Bronze Medal by the President of the
Repubblica - dedicated to the young musicians of the planet.

The Cradle of the Renaissance will become the favorite setting for summer musical nights, illuminated by
soundtracks interpreted by the Stars of the World of the Brass, from the Teatro dell & # 39; Opera in Florence, to the Bridge
Vecchio, at Palazzo Pitti, at Villa Bardini, at Piazza della Signoria, at the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, alone
to name a few.
The beating heart of Italian Brass Week has always been internationality. Teachers from all over the
world will share lessons and concerts with dozens of students from well over twenty-five nations.
Florence, the fulcrum of Humanism, will be the vital example of "knowing how to make international musical culture",

Jazz, swing, blues, ragtimes, brass virtuosity, world premieres for the 50th anniversary celebrations
anniversary of the 1966 Florence flood, baroque atmospheres, classics, folks, traditional, standard
Afro and Latin American gospel, will synthesize the different cultures of the Festival, enriching Florence and Tuscany
and the whole world of new Beauty, the Masterclasses will be accompanied, every evening, by Concerts.

On 21 July 2016 LIGHT OF THE GOLDEN RIVER will be performed, a world premiere by the Polish composer
PAWEL PUDLO (www.pawelpudlo.com). A special evening, with the Brass on board the historic boats
Florentine, which will open at 18.00 on the banks of the Arno River and on the Ponte Vecchio, to commemorate
the anniversary of the 1966 flood. event born in collaboration with the Società Canottieri of Florence and
with the “I Renaioli” Association.
On 22 July 2016, from 20.00, it will be the turn of the Main Event, also world premiere, born from the idea of
M ° Luca Benucci, who will involve 4 continents and 100 Brass & # 39; s musicians. World premiere, on the Cupola
by Brunelleschi and in the churchyard of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, the REQUIEM of
