'A Cosmic Breath: a virtual Festival with real Musicians'

THE FESTIVAL
The Italian Brass Week is an international festival, now in its 21st edition, created and directed by M ° Luca Benucci, first solo horn of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra, teacher of the Music School of Fiesole and of the State Conservatory of “Claudio Monteverdi” music from Bolzano. In recent years it has become an event of global importance and has been accredited by the sector's specialized press among the top three international festivals in the world for quality, spectacularity, planning, programming and artistic organization.
Thanks to the consolidated partnerships with the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Music School of Fiesole, ANBIMA, Estate Fiorentina 2020, the institutions Municipality of Florence, Metropolitan City of Florence and the Tuscany Region, the Embassies of Canada, Spain, the Kingdom of The Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland - based in Rome - and the Honorary Consulate of the United States - based in Florence - we managed to create a small musical jewel that has as its fundamental pillars of its existence the training of young musicians and the uniqueness of concert performances.
Emotions in enchanting places, absolute world premieres, authentic and unrepeatable concerts involve, in every edition, and will involve, also in this, thousands of spectators and performers.
For this 21st edition, although bound by the restrictions for the Covid-19 emergency, we have decided to carry on our mission, using tools and formulas that allow us to donate music, training, emotions and sharing to all those who will join us through our social channels. A virtual festival but with real musicians.

Young interpreters, teachers, international soloists have given life, every year, to a capillary work, full of energy, leading us to live unforgettable experiences in our magnificent city, the cradle of the Renaissance and the fulcrum of contemporaneity. It is precisely in this perfect union of past and present that we launch into rebirth, the will to be reborn, continuing to open up to the world through the Zoom and Skype platforms and the direct social networks on Facebook, Instagram, Youtube.
Every day, with a detailed calendar of events, over 70 of the best Brass musicians on our planet will connect from their home, their living room, their study, their garden for the entire week. Every corner of the world will speak Italian Brass Week; each of the 70 world stars will open their home to let out that vital breath, that 'Cosmic Breath' that will reach thousands, millions of young people and music lovers. We launch from the control room Florence a very strong and new sign of the resumption of musical life.
