WINGS TO TALENT – INTERNATIONAL VIDEO COMPETITION
ONLINE COMPETITION FOR BRASS PLAYERS
Our festival has always contributed to the growth of the international brass community, designating scholarships to students who prove their merit after one audition with an international jury that usually takes place on the first day of our festival.
Thanks to this year’s Crowdfunding campaign named WINGS TO TALENT and your participation, we will seek to give as many scholarships as possible to facilitate participation in our festival.
PRIZES
Up for grabs are scholarships to participate at the Italian Brass Week.
Special prizes are also awarded by “ANBIMA” to the four best students.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
To participate in the competition, you must create avideo recording of 2 minutes, free choice of repertoire.
Applicants may participate as an individual and/or as a group.
The maximum number of participants permitted for group performances is as a quintet.
Any electronic device is permitted to make the video, including but not limited to: tablet, smartphone, video camera, photo camera.
Musicians will be invited to come to Italy for the final round on 9 July 2017 at the Opera di Firenze, based on the number of votes received during the online preliminary round.
The first round selections will be determined by the jury and based on the number of each video’s visualizations and likes acquired by midnight of 30 June 2017, UTC+1.
Videos must be uploaded online onto each candidate’s YouTube channel by 15 June 2017 (evidenced by the publication date of the video on YouTube) and links to the videos must be sent to the dedicated competition email address immediately after uploading. The videos will be inserted into a specific playlist on the Italian Brass Week’s channel, to facilitate the judges’ preliminary round selection process.

IMPORTANT:Before uploading and submitting links, it is required that you insert our WINGS TO TALENT image and the link to our Crowdfunding campaign into your video. The penalty for not observing this requirement is disqualification from the competition.
IMPORTANT: The scholarships will be distributed only once the WINGS TO TALENT Crowdfunding campaign goal is reached. If it is not reached, the Italian Brass Week cannot guarantee scholarships or financial aid, even in lesser amounts.
COMPETITION CATEGORIES:
The International Prize WTT will have two categories:
Under 18
Over 18
Participants must bebetween the ages of 14 and 28.
The competition will be divided into two categories in order to provide an equal opportunity to participants:
“Junior”, for students under 18 years old
“Senior” per students over 18 years old
The judges’ criteria is as follows:
- Number of visualizations of the video (by the time of the deadline, at midnight of 30 June 2017, UTC+1)
- Number of likes of the video (by the time of the deadline, at midnight of 30 June 2017, UTC+1)
- Judgement of the Jury panel (The panel’s decision is binding and irrevocable)
