XXV International Brass Festival Italian Brass Week

2006

Italian Brass Week 2006

They arrive at the Peschiera park, in Grosseto, from all over the world: Spain, Holland, Belgium, Greece, Ireland, Hungary, Switzerland, USA, Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico, Togo, Israel and Singapore. Inside the suitcase, a musical instrument and a great desire to perfect their art. Also this year, after the success of previous editions, the "Santa Fiora in Musica" Festival dedicates an entire week to the Italian Brass Week. Young musicians from twenty-five different states around the world will participate in a marathon of masterclasses with nationally and internationally renowned teachers to perfect their musical skills. A project that will alternate the days of lessons and rehearsals with traditional concerts, in which prestigious artists from the Italian and international music scene will perform.
On the opening night of Sunday 14 August, numerous visual and sound surprises are scheduled, many of which are inspired by Japan and oriental atmospheres, recurring themes of this XII edition of the Festival. An opportunity to kick off an international event that for years has been the highlight of "Santa Fiora in Musica", anticipating its contents in a show that promises not to disappoint the public. The Italian WonderBrass Quintet performed on stage in a musical performance of the highest level. The brass quintet was born from the initiative of five young musicians who grew up in Italy, who in 2006 joined together with the aim of presenting to the public a dynamic, versatile and competitive chamber group on the international music scene.
