Horn Matters

Jon Ericson and Bruce Hembd have combined their blogs into a unique horn related website.

The Business of Music

A blog about the business of music, which will focus on literature that will help students and professionals look at different aspects of being a musician that are not covered during school. The goal is to develop a community of people that will share ideas, resources, and experiences, much like a university course.

New Hornist

I’m 58 years old. I’m studying the horn again after a 37 year lapse. I played in high school and college. Now I’m retired and have the time to take it up again, something I’ve wanted to do since I stopped playing. I gave it up for marriage (I met my husband who played the cello in music camp), four kids, and a career in marketing. When my kids were young I had an opportunity to play in a community orchestra and my husband’s reaction was, “Are you nuts?” (He was right.) So much for playing the horn.
